About Somerby Golf Community
Somerby is a private golf club and planned community on the north side of Byron, about an 11-mile drive west of downtown Rochester. Its course was designed by John Fought with Tom Lehman, and the course and community were built from 2002 to 2004. The community has homes and lots both on and off the course, plus a clubhouse, restaurant, pool, tennis courts and a park.
Olmsted County records list more than a dozen Somerby plats, including Somerby Golf Community, Somerby Golf Comm West, Belvior, Diseworth, Bridgeford and Southwell. Inside the boundary we use for this guide, they show about 220 single-family homes, about 60 townhomes and more than 90 vacant residential lots. The whole area is in Byron Public Schools (ISD 531).
