About Quarry Hill
This guide covers Quarry Hill West, a registered City of Rochester neighborhood association of about 195 acres in northeast Rochester, between Silver Lake and Quarry Hill Park. Olmsted County records show about 670 single-family parcels and about 50 townhomes, many in the Oakcliff plats.
Quarry Hill Park, the largest park in Rochester’s park system, covers 329 acres with more than 8 miles of paved and hiking trails, a pond, a fossil quarry and a sandstone cave carved in 1882. Its nature center is free and open most days of the year. Jefferson Elementary School is about a quarter mile from the middle of the neighborhood.

Bus and transit options
- Rochester Public Transit (RPT) runs city bus routes, including park-and-ride express service from three lots to Saint Marys and downtown. Parking at the RPT park-and-ride lots is free and the regular fare is $2; Mayo Clinic employees show their Mayo ID for employer-sponsored fares (City of Rochester). Mayo’s staff commuting flyer names the lots as N. Broadway (CMX Chateau Theater), the Olmsted County Fairgrounds and 75th Street NW.
- Link, a fare-free 2.8-mile bus rapid transit line linking the West Transit Village, Mayo Clinic campuses and downtown, is under construction. The city expects first rides in August 2027 (City of Rochester, Sept. 2026).
